Top of The Line, Cutting Edge Technology.

We are one of few veterinary clinics in Lafayette, Louisiana to offer Laser Surgery. We are pleased to announce the use of CO2 Laser Surgery as an option in most of our surgical procedures. Laser technology is one more way we stay on the cutting edge to offer your pet the most advanced and current medical care available.

We recommend this for all surgeries because it reduces bleeding and seals nerve endings which decreases pain perception and decreases swelling. The results are quicker return to normal function for your pet.

Frequently Ask Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive when it comes to their animal needing surgery. If you don’t see your question here, you can always call our office at (337)988-5022 to have your question answered.

Although medications, lifestyle adjustments, and holistic approaches can be effective, sometimes surgery is necessary to repair an injury, treat a disease, address an infection, or to correct a genetic disorder. Our veterinarians will talk with pet owners about all available treatment options and likely outcomes, ensuring pet owners feel comfortable with the procedure at hand.

In order to reduce the anesthetic risk with any of our procedures, we strongly recommend pre- operative bloodwork and EKG to check your pet’s vital organ function.

We recommend CO2 Laser for all surgeries because it reduces bleeding and seals nerve endings which decreases pain perception and decreases swelling. The results are quicker return to normal function for your pet.

During your pet’s procedure, we use only high-quality medications, state-of-the-art surgical equipment, and the best health monitoring tools available. All surgeries have intravenous catheters, intravenous fluids, core body temperature, EKG, pulse oximetry, and respiratory rate monitoring throughout the entire anesthetic procedure.

We also have an extensive pain management program in-place to help to alleviate the pain and discomfort your pet may experience after surgeries. This program includes pre-operative and post-operative pain injections as well as take home medications to control discomfort.
